Who Are JETAA?
Introduction
The Japan Exchange and Teaching Alumni Association (JETAA) is a non-profit organisation for past participants of the JET programme. The world governing body is JETAA International (JETAAi).
JETAAA
JETAAA is the Auckland chapter of JETAA, and is a non-profit volunteer organisation, funded by the Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR).
Our purpose is to:
- Assist and support JET participants in their readjustment to life in New Zealand
- Assist in the promotion and implementation of the JET programme
- Promote international relations between Japan and New Zealand
JETAAA organises events for JETAAA members, helps the Consulate-General of Japan with various aspects of the JET programme, and produces a newsletter, among other things.
JET participants become members of JETAAA automatically when they are selected for the programme. Membership is free.
